Karolina Szablewska was born in Ciechanow, Poland in 1990, and had immigrated to Canada in 1998. She has lived in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Lindsay, Ontario. Currently, she lives in Halifax attending Nova Scotia College of Art and Design doing her undergraduate degree, attending on the McCain Scholarship. Even if she enjoys creating most types of art, her preferred mediums are acrylic, watercolour, ink, pencil, conte, and charcoal.
She has been knitting since 2007, and is interested in pottery and film. She is an ambitious, hard-working, and constantly pondering individual, and is enthusiastic about helping. Aside from art, she enjoys playing music, singing, acting, playing games, dressing up, listening to music, watching movies, riding her bike, reading, cooking, baking (pies!), and spending time with her dearest friends.
She has exhibited in juried art shows at the Lindsay Art Gallery between 2004 - 2008, and in Windows on Main Street in Lindsay during 2008. She has painted a large mural for Lindsay's Ross Memorial Hospital during 2006. Her work has been displayed in the NSCAD office during the 2009 Fall semester. She has already had many commissions and been featured on blogs on the web.
